SGPC comprises diverse stakeholders including participants from Back County Horsemen, Cascade Forest Conservancy, Friends of Mt. Adams, Gifford Pinchot Accountability Group, Klickitat County, Mazamas, Mt. Adams Resource Stewards, Office of Congresswoman Jaime Herrera-Beutler, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Saving Skamania County, Skamania County Commissioners, Skamania County Noxious Weed Program, Underwood Conservation District, Washington Trails Association,  and WKO/High Cascade, Inc. 


Mission Statements of Each Organization

Back Country Horsemen: 1. To perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America’s back country and wilderness. 2. To work to insure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.  3. To assist the various government and private agencies in their maintenance and management of said resource.  4. To educate, encourage and solicit active participation in the wise use of the back country resource by horsemen and the general public commensurate with our heritage. 5. To foster and encourage the formation of new chapters in the state organization

Cascade Forest Conservancy: We protect and sustain forests, streams, wildlife and communities in the heart of the Cascades through conservation, education and advocacy.

Friends of Mt Adams: Mission is to understand, protect and celebrate Mount Adams and its surrounding ecosystems through education, research, stewardship, advocacy and public events.

Gifford Pinchot Accountability Group: To hold the Gifford Pinchot NF accountable in managing the National Forest per the NWFP’s 5 Key Principles to meet the dual needs of forest habitat and need for forest products for healthy forests and healthy communities.

Mt. Adams Resource Stewards: Mission is to promote sustainable connections between the land, local economies, and rural communities in the Mt. Adams Region.

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation: Ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage.

Saving Skamania County: To provide support for the financial stability of the county through advocacy of responsible forest management and development of the county’s natural and business resources, both public and private.

Skamania County Noxious Weed Program: Our mission is to serve as responsible stewards to limit the economic loss and adverse environmental effects to Skamania County’s agricultural, natural, recreational, and human resources as a result of the presence and spread of noxious weeds on all terrestrial and aquatic areas in the county.

Underwood Conservation District (UCD): Engages landowners and land users throughout Skamania and west Klickitat Counties in the conservation, enhancement, and sustainable use of natural resources through voluntary stewardship.

Washington Trails Association: Mission is to preserve, enhance, and promote hiking opportunities in Washington State through collaboration, education, advocacy and volunteer trail maintenance.

WKO/High Cascade, Inc.Promoting and Protecting: supporting and adhering to the toughest timber harvesting regulations in the nation.
