Field Trips

(Welcome! This website is currently under construction.)

Members of the South Gifford Pinchot Collaborative participate in field trips to the forest to look at the condition of the forest, meadows, roads and streams. We go to the forest to look at upcoming project areas, projects that have been completed and areas that have management challenges.

Forest Service staff and specialists accompany the group to explain the projects or concerns. Field trips give everyone an opportunity to look at the same thing on the ground at the same time. It gives the collaborative a chance to talk about the situation more realistically and gain a better understanding of everyone’s perspective.

Everyone is welcome to attend our field trips. We generally meet in a central location and carpool to our forest destinations.
